To open a bank account you need two pieces of ID, at least one of which needs to be issued by a federal, provincial, or territorial government. ID cannot be expired and must be up to date. Also, it needs to be in good condition. The most common forms of ID are:

If you have no government issued ID and live in Winnipeg, Citizens' Bridge can help you get the ID you need. They will work with you to fill out forms, help cover the costs and navigate the whole process with you. If you only have your government issued ID and nothing else, you can approach a Community Referral Partner for help. A Community Referral Partner is an organization that can provide you a Community Sponsor Letter to act as a second piece of ID. If the organization feels they know you well enough or can verify your identity they can get you the second piece of ID you need to open an account with us.
