Community Sponsorships

Do you have an event, fundraiser, festival, celebration or award you'd like sponsored? We're happy to help. ACU welcomes opportunities to support local events and celebrations that have a positive impact on our communities.

Important: please apply at least six weeks prior to your event.

What we sponsor

  • community fundraisers (members only)
  • arts and cultural events in Manitoba
  • community festivals, celebrations and awards, because they encourage community connections and nurture pride, while celebrating the diversity of our communities

Who is eligible

  • non-profits, registered charities and co-operatives
  • organizations must have missions and values that are consistent with the mission and values of Assiniboine Credit Union

We prefer to sponsor organizations working in the areas of:

  • community inclusion, working to increase the social and economic participation of marginalized members of the community such as Indigenous people, newcomers, disadvantaged women or youth and people living with disabilities.
  • environmental sustainability, working to create positive solutions to environmental concerns
  • community enterprise development, developing and strengthening cooperatives and social enterprises (revenue-generating businesses owned/operated by non-profits primarily for the purpose of achieving social, economic, cultural or environmental goals; and whose surpluses are reinvested for that purpose in the business or in the community)
  • arts and culture, providing opportunities for Manitobans to experience a diverse range of cultural and artistic expression

We give preference to smaller organizations that don't have substantial budgets or many other sources of funding.

We don't sponsor

  • individuals
  • political parties and affiliated activities
  • religious activities
  • third party fundraisers
  • health care facilities; medical research, services or equipment
  • sports teams and sporting events
  • major capital projects (except for fundraising events above)

Limitations and conditions

  • because of limited funding, we sponsor only one event per organization per year
  • you must submit a short application along with your sponsorship materials
  • after the event, we might ask you to submit a short report outlining the success of the event and how ACU was recognized
