All you need is a cellphone that can send and receive texts. It's fast, it's easy, and best of all, it's free!

Security

Your personal information is always secure because the only information that is transmitted is your account balance or your recent account activity. Even if you lose your phone, no one will be able to make changes to your account, access your funds or find your personal information. You can also cancel or temporarily disable mobile text banking through ACU online banking.

What you'll need...

  • a mobile phone that can send and receive texts (have it handy when you're setting up Mobile Text Banking)
  • a data plan that allows you to send and receive texts (Mobile Text Banking is free, but standard text messaging rates may apply, depending on your provider and plan).

If you don't use online banking...

  • visit your ACU branch or talk to your account manager, who'll be glad to help get you setup.

If you're already using online banking...

Setting up mobile text banking is quick and easy; just follow the steps below. Have your mobile phone handy so you can verify your setup with a passcode.

  1. Log in to online banking on your computer.
  2. Click Account Services and choose Manage Mobile Banking.
  3. Click Register Your Phone for Mobile Banking.
  4. Read the user agreement, then select I Agree.
  5. Click the Add Phone button and enter your mobile phone number.
  6. You'll receive a text message on your mobile phone with your passcode.
  7. Confirm your passcode on the mobile text banking page.
  8. Select the accounts you want to access with mobile text banking. You can change the account nickname to something easy for you to remember (note that nicknames must be unique).

Once you register your phone, mobile text banking is easy to use.

  1. Send any of the following short codes to the mobile number 66639.
  2. You will receive a text back with the information you've requested.

Short Code List

  • INFO - information about Assiniboine Credit Union
  • HELP - provides a list of keyword commands and account nicknames
  • STOP - permanently deletes your phone from Mobile Text Banking access
  • DISABLE - temporarily disables your phone from Mobile Text Banking access
  • BAL - provides the balance from your primary account; can be used to access specific account information if you enter it in this format: BAL <account nickname>. For example, if you've set CH1 as your chequing account nickname, text BAL CH1 to 66639 to receive balances for that account
  • BAL ALL - provides balances for all accounts you have set for Mobile Text Banking access
  • ACT - provides account activity for your primary account; can be used to access specific account information if you enter it in this format: ACT <account nickname>. For example, if you've set CH1 as your chequing account nickname, text ACT CH1 to 66639 to receive account activity for that account
  • NICK - provides a list of all your account nicknames

And, to make mobile text banking even easier, you can save the short code in your phone for quick and easy access. You can also save your mobile banking text messages and simply resend.
