ACU offers Apple Pay as a Convenient, Private and Secure Way to Pay

April 17, 2018 – As the world goes increasingly digital, Assiniboine Credit Union is proud to offer Apple Pay, allowing its members to shop in an easy, convenient, and secure way.

When an ACU member sets up their Interac® Debit card with Apple Pay, a unique Device Account Number is generated and securely stored on the member’s device. Each transaction is authorized securely, so the member can pay in confidence knowing his or her personal financial information is never stored on the Apple device or shared with merchants.

“We know many people don’t leave home without their mobile phones,” says Kevin Sitka, President & CEO of Assiniboine Credit Union. “Starting today, our members’ Apple devices will now be able to pay using the ACU debit card for everything from their daily coffee to gardening tools to groceries.”

“We’ve been working with Apple and our partners for several months to bring the convenience and security of Apple Pay to our members. Offering this convenience and security to our members is another example of Money doing more”, Sitka says.

Apple Pay is simple to use with any payment terminal that has Interac® Flash or the Apple Pay symbols and the payment will get deducted from the member’s chequing or savings account.

Assiniboine Credit Union has 18 branches in Winnipeg, Thompson and Gilliam, with 125,000 members and $4.5 billion in assets. It is the largest credit union in Manitoba by members.
