ACU Inducted into Rainbow Stage's Wall of Fame
Assiniboine Credit Union was recently inducted into the Rainbow Stage Wall of Fame in the category of Builder. The award acknowledges an organization or individual who has initiated fund-raising or administrative efforts that have ensured the survival and growth of Rainbow Stage.
Other inductees were Ken Peter (Administration Award), Donna Fletcher (Performer Award), Judy Murphy (Creative Award), and Charles E. Porter (Technical/Builder Award).
Board member Nicole Ritchot accepted the award on behalf of ACU. "Having our name enshrined on the Wall of Fame will be a prominent and lasting reminder of the strong relationship between our two organizations. I'd like to thank Rainbow Stage for their positive contribution to the arts in Manitoba, and for the opportunity they have given ACU to enjoy the productions and share them with so many others."
Since 1996, ACU has supported this local venue by purchasing tickets for one night, known as Assiniboine Night at Rainbow Stage. Tickets are offered at a reduced price to ACU members and staff, as well as non-members.
Rainbow Stage is Canada's longest running outdoor theatre and a long-time non-profit member of Assiniboine Credit Union. They have been making music happen under the stars in Kildonan Park since 1954. Their mission is: to make facilities available for the purpose of contributing to the dramatic, musical and artistic standards of Winnipeg and area; to provide opportunities for the development and expansion of local talent; and to provide a summer attraction of interest to visitors.
