Registered Retirement Income Funds (RRIFs)

Jump to Investing Sub-Menu

A RRIF is one of the options you should consider to fund your retirement. By rolling your RRSP into a RRIF, you are provided a constant income flow. RRIF withdrawals are considered taxable income, but the money in the fund remains tax sheltered and you can continue to decide how your money is invested.

There is a minimum amount of money you must withdraw from your RRIF each year, but you are allowed to take out more if you need more money in one particular year. And, if your personal circumstances change and you decide that an annuity is more suited to your retirement needs, you can convert the balance of your RRIF at any time.

Our account managers are also Credential® investment professionals who can provide you with more information on RRIFs.
