Try e-Statements

In keeping with our mandate as a socially responsible company that chooses environmentally responsible solutions whenever possible, we are pleased to offer our members e-statements.

e-Statements are identical to paper statements – including cheque images – but offer the added convenience of paperless storage, secure 24-hour access and receipt of your statement sooner than by mail. There is no need to print copies for your records; e-statements are archived for seven years from date of issue, starting November 14, 2008 when we converted to our current banking system.

e-Statements are available through CU@HOME online banking automatically – no need to sign up! If you're not already signed up for online banking, give our Member Communication Centre a call at 1.877.958.8588 and they will get you set up.

Go paperless

There are many great reasons to do so. Maybe you want to declutter. Or maybe you would like to lessen your impact on the environment by reducing the use of raw materials, water and energy, not to mention the emissions, that are all a part of producing paper.

To qualify for discontinuation of your paper statements:

  • You must be prepared to review and verify transactions posted on your account by viewing your e-statement on CU@HOME. Any inconsistencies must be reported within 30 days of the posting date of the E-statement.
  • Business/Organization accounts are not currently able to discontinue receiving paper statements.

You have three ways to opt out of receiving paper statements:

1. Simply call our Member Communication Centre at 1.877.958.8588 and they will set you up,

OR

2. Visit any of our branches and ask to discontinue paper statements, and they will get you signed up,

OR

3. Download and complete the Discontinue Paper Statements Agreement and fax the form to us at 1.877.958.7348.


Change your frequency

If you would still like to receive paper statements, but less often, we also offer quarterly statements. Please note, this will also apply to the frequency of your e-statement. For more information, please call our Member Communication Centre at 1.877.958.8588.

In 2010, Joan and 6,800 members like her, moved to electronic statements and helped us use 55,631 fewer envelopes and 246,358 fewer sheets of paper.

The bad news is that in spite of that success, we still used 1,462,074 envelopes and 2,201,520 sheets of paper in 2010 in the production of statements.

Complete and submit the Discontinue Paper Statements Agreement and help us decrease our paper use and environmental impact.
