After watching banks abandon Winnipeg’s North End and fringe financial outlets move in to fill the gap over the past decade, we decided to buck the trend by opening a branch on the corner of McGregor Street at College Avenue that will serve Winnipeg’s North-End residents, businesses and non-profit organizations. The decision to open a branch in one of Winnipeg’s lowest-income neighbourhoods is part of our long-term vision to better serve existing and new members, and reach out to people with no or limited access to banking services.

This is our second branch in a community abandoned by banks. In 2001 we opened a branch at 640 Broadway, which has been successfully serving and supported by the local community since.
