Sharing Financial & Business Expertise

Through our branch network and Business and Community Financial Centres (BCFC) ACU provides a service to the community by sharing our financial and business expertise. We partner with community organizations to offer specialized workshops covering such topics as basic banking and buying a home. We also lend our financing and business expertise to support the development of small enterprises.

BCFC employees regularly share their financing and business expertise in the community, including:

  • Presentations on “Understanding Small Business Financing” to participants of the Self Employment Assistance Programs offered through the YMCA/YWCA and Meyers Norris Penny.
  • Presentations to small businesses attending workshops offered by Western Economic Diversification and the Canada-Manitoba Business Service Centre.
  • Presentations to clients of SEED Winnipeg’s Build-A-Business program.
  • Advice to students in business programs such as the Red River College Entrepreneurship Program.
  • Volunteering with Junior Achievement to help students gain business and entrepreneurial experience and to teach them about the economics of staying in school.
