Peg City Car Co-op's Story
Peg City Car Co-op held its official launch in June to coincide with Bike to Work Day. The timing was not a coincidence, as one of the goals of the co-op is to reach out to people who are already using multiple modes of transportation in their lives.

Nourishing Potential's Story
Assiniboine Credit Union is one of two lead partners in The Winnipeg Foundation's newest endowment, the Nourishing Potential Fund. Over the next several years, ACU will give a total of $250000 to this fund, helping it grow to its projected $5 million.

Jhazz's Story
Hard hat? Check. Steel-toed boots? Check. Wanting to make a difference? Check. Those were all the tools required for more than 40 Assiniboine staff to be put to work on this year’s Habitat Build.

The WRENCH's Story
Opening day at The WRENCH's repair shop at 1057 Logan Avenue, and the symbolic ribbon cutting has been replaced by a lesson in how to remove a link from a bike chain. The walls are lined with neatly organized bike parts that have been donated or retrieved from the Brady Landfill.

Robertson-Mynarski Residents Association's Story
While we've heard 'it takes a village to raise a child', a north-end Winnipeg neighbourhood knows it takes a whole community to save an urban forest - one tree at a time.

Meg's Story
Meg was a teenager when she started volunteering at the West End Cultural Centre. Now, as General Manager, Meg helps artists live their musical dreams.

West Broadway’s Good Food Club has turned its interest in food security into a social enterprise – known as the Soup Bee.

ArtsJunktion's Story
Andrea Stuart and Melanie Janzen are bubbling with excitement as they display the items lining the shelves at ArtsJunktion. “Many businesses have items they regard as garbage and we see as treasures,” says Andrea. “Paper and fabric offcuts, clear containers, cardboard tubes, foam – we know how useful these materials are for artists and educators.”

Like a lot of people, we used to wonder what to do with our old computers and printers at ACU. That is, until we met Alvin Keppler and the other folks at Responsible Electronics Recycling (RER).

When Sarah Seller, a single mom at age 21, saw that a friend who lived on low income just like her was able to buy new bedroom furniture and a computer, she was absolutely stunned. "How the heck did she do that?" Sarah asked herself.

Ben was a local chef looking to serve up something different. He was invited to help create a campus food program that looked at cafeteria fare in an unconventional way.
