Lower Limits Protect Against Card Skimming
In light of recent debit-card skimming across Canada and here at home, some members' cards with ATM and point-of-sale limits exceeding our standard limits have been reset to standard limits. While members must be careful to protect their card and PIN, this step will add to the security and protection of their funds. Meantime, we continue to work toward the 2010-2011 launch of new Chip technology on our Assiniboine Credit Union and Outlook Financial debit cards. As well, we recently began a phased installation of a new card reader on our ATMs. This device, which has an illuminated green cover, is Chip-ready and designed for added security.
